Cloud Core Concepts and Benefits

Voiced by AWS Polly.

Friends for us to better understand Multi-Cloud Computing first we need to know the main benefits of running our workloads in the Cloud.

As we all know Cloud Computing is a set of computing resources like Compute, Networking, Storage, Servers, Databases, Serverless, Containers, Analytic over the internet (The Cloud).

Below we will explain some of the main benefits of Cloud Computing ↓.

Why cloud is important?

Main Benefits of Cloud Computing.

1. Pay only for what you need when you need:

Most companies around the globe no matter the size can be affected by poor resource utilization, if your system is unable to scale to cope with the extra utilization your users will experience performances issues.

With Cloud computing your systems can automatically scale up or down in a matter of minutes without needing to pay upfront for extra servers or IT resources that will be use only for a couple of hours and then sit idle.

With Cloud you will only pay for the minutes you are allocating the resources and if you plan well you can automate scaling up or down taking the burden out of your IT team, so they can focus on other important tasks to increase productivity and efficiency.

2. Forget about DataCenter Maintenance expenses (Money and Time).

Let your Cloud Providers take care of racking, cooling, security, power, growth, reliability, replication, disaster recovery and other important IT task.

By leveraging Cloud Computing services you will forget about DataCenter Maintenance and equipment lifecycle or going EoSS (End of Sales or Support) as all this tedious and annoying tasks will be performed transparently by your Cloud Providers, thus moving from a CAPEX model to OPEX.

3. Secure your workloads (On-prem or Cloud) with Native-Cloud Technologies.

We are living in difficult times where cyber-crime organizations are aiming not only big/small companies, also some common targets are whole countries, these attacks aim to Government organizations causing production down situation forcing countries to pay ransom money to recover their systems, this money will later be reinvested on more cyber attacks making this cyber-criminals more powerful.

Cloud Providers know the importance of providing visibility by monitoring and automating responses to these cyber-attacks by using Cloud Native technologies for example Microsoft Defender for Cloud or AWS GuardDuty or AWS Shield and other very useful tools available to protect our workloads thus avoid becoming an easy target for cyber-criminal organizations.
